It’s quite sad when you finish watching the current season of your favorite TV series and you have nothing to watch while you are waiting for the next season to be released. Well if you are a ‘House of the Dragon’ fan, we’ve got you. Here are some TV shows that you should enjoy if you enjoyed ‘House of the Dragon’. (Game of Thrones will not be included).
1.Lord of the Rings
We had a series of three Lord of the Rings movies some years back and when Amazon Prime announced they were releasing a Tv series, the internet went up in flames. The series is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R Tolkien’s ‘The Hobbit’ which shows a group of heroes journey to Middle-earth to confront the evil that has re-emerged. Season 1 is done so the wait for Season 2 begins. Watch ‘Lord of the Rings’ on Amazon Prime.
2.A Wheel of Time
Wheel of Time Season 1 premiered on prime video on November 19th, 2021 and it was a big hit. A lot of people who hadn’t read the books before watching the series were in love but the book readers weren’t entirely happy that a lot of events in the book were not included in the series. Regardless, everyone agrees that ‘Wheel of Time’ is worth watching. The series follows Moiraine Damodred, a member of a magical organization, who takes five young people on a journey, believing that one of them might be the reincarnation of the Dragon, a powerful individual prophesied to save the world or destroy it. Season 2 wrapped filming in May,2022 and is currently on the way so expect the new season at the ending this year or early next year. Though season 2 hasn’t been released, Wheel of Time has already been renewed for Season 3 so expect more.
If you haven’t heard of ‘The Witcher’ then you might be living under a rock. The Witcher is currently on Season 2 and is bringing out a prequel of ‘The Witcher’ which is called ‘Blood Origin’. Season 3 will be released next year so be excited cause that will be the last time we will see Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. The Witcher follows the story of Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter, who is finding his place in this world. Monster hunters are called Witchers which is where the name comes from so follow our stone cold Geralt as he finds love, makes friends and slays beasts.
Watch the Witcher on Netflix.
4.Shadow and Bone
Shadow and Bone was also another big hit on Netflix. Currently, only one Season is available but Season 2 will be here next year so watch out. The series follows the story of young Alina Starkov who is an orphan and cartographer of the Ravka nation’s First Army alongside her best friend. While trying to save her best friend she discovers she is a Grisha, one with special gifts, and one long awaited to address a dire need in the universe. After discovering her powers she is sent to train with her country’s magical military and she falls into the hands of the darkling who is using her to summon a force capable of destroying the dangerous Shadow Fold. Shadow and Bone is available on Netflix.
5.His Dark Materials
If you haven’t watched ‘His Dark Materials’, I advise you to give it a watch. I’ve been anticipating Season 3 and the final Season will be released in December,2022. His Dark Materials tells the story of a young girl Lyra who escapes an orphanage home to search for a missing friend and accidentally discovers a kidnapping plot related to an invisible cosmic substance called Dust. Lyral is destined to liberate her world from the grip of the Magisterium which represses people’s ties to magic and their animal spirits known as daemons. Along the way, she runs into her Mother and discovers that her Mother might not be what she thinks. The Journey is long for Lyra and Will as they travel to the land of the dead to find some answers. Season 3 of ‘His Dark Materials’ will be out on the 5th of December on HBOmax.
