Breaking news: Dwayne Johnson is now back with the Fast & Furious franchise

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made it clear multiple times, in the not-so-distant past, that he would never rejoin the main Fast & Furious franchise, the movies involving Vin Diesel at least. So, you can imagine my shock, as well as anybody else’s, hearing that he will now feature in the Fast X movie releasing this month.

It is known by most that Vin Diesel and Dwayne had issues on set that made Dwayne cut ties with the Fast franchise and go off to start a sister franchise in Hobbs & Shaw later on. His new Red Notice franchise with Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds did well enough to earn them a sequel, and he’s been in many other projects outside that. But there is nothing quite like his portrayal of Hobbs on Fast & Furious. The world knows it, Vin Diesel knows, and he himself knows it.

I love Dwayne Johnson, he’s a nice guy, a great dad, and a great actor but we all know he has that little ego that has messed up a couple of things, at least. His Black Adam movie is a very recent example, with his input and control of what he wanted the movie to be like, and what could be added to it. As a DC fan, I was ecstatic to see him play Black Adam because he was perfect for it, but he caused the downfall of that movie and his time as Black Adam with his own hands. I’m just glad he didn’t let the same happen, or rather continue with Hobbs.

Hobbs will feature in the post-credits scene, setting up his proper return in the next Fast movie. It’s going to be interesting to see the dynamics between Dwayne and Diesel. They are both professionals and we trust that they will put on a show for us in the near future, as they’ve done in the past.
