Throughout there have been a few exceptional movies that have gotten fans riled up. Movies like Super Mario Bros., Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3, Spider-man: Across The Spider-Verse and many others. But there are two that have set off a spark in millions of fans across the globe – Barbie and Oppenheimer.
These two movies will go head to head at the box office as both movies will be released just a day apart. Barbie releasing on the 20th of July, and Oppenheimer releasing on the 21st of July. Barbie is currently set to open up to a bigger box office weekend opening than Oppenheimer. And it makes sense, there are lots of Barbie fans out there.
“To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken.” Barbie leaves her world to go to the real world, with Ken alongside her, to explore and find out the truth about the universe. While “Oppenheimer follows the story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atomic bomb.”
Both these movies have an incredible cast list. With stars from start to finish, you almost can’t keep track of them all. One thing is certain, we’re going to see turnouts at the cinema at an all-time high come July 20th and 21st. And for those in the know, there is actually a third competitor – Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning. Tom Cruise had to step in himself and make sure that Mission Impossible was able to get some IMAX screenings for his movie instead of Barbie and Oppenheimer taking all the IMAX screen slots.
Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning will be a great movie without a doubt but Barbie and Oppenheimwr are way too strong competitors for it to try to keep up with. But an advantage Mission Impossible will have is that it will be released about a week before those movies. Mission Impossible releases on the 14th of July. So, It’s going to be fun to see how this pays out.
