There’s been a lot of talk about who and who will see in the new reboot of the DCU, especially characters and their actors that were in the DCEU that is now over, thanks to the events of what happened in The Flash movie.
Blue Beetle is more of a character that has been on the fence in terms of discussions within the DC fanbase. We didn’t know whether the movie belongs to the old DCEU or if he was part of the DCU. James Gunn has now confirmed in an Interview that Blue Beetle is in fact a part of the new DCU. He says:
“The first character in the DCU is Blue Beetle, and the first full DCU movie is Superman: Legacy”
So we now know that we will definitely be seeing Blue Beetle in the future. And this is huge for Comic book faithfuls. Blue Beetle is a great, fun character that the average person can relate to. He’s not born with magical powers, or born on another planet, or, born to a god. He’s a regular guy who uses advanced alien tech to fight crime and protect people.
Blue Beetle will officially release on the 16th of August 2023, later this year, and it looks like it’s going to be a fun one. DC fans, we need to turn out big for this one. We cannot allow this movie to flop
