During a joint interview with Chris Pratt, James Gunn confirms a spoiler from Chris saying that he heard something about Krypto being in the Superman: Legacy movie. With all the little leaks and scoops we’ve been hearing about this movie, it’s hard not to be optimistic about the potential of it, especially with James Gunn at the forefront of it all.
For those who aren’t aware yet, James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy is doing numbers and has racked in nothing but high praise from almost every single person who has seen it (except Snyder-bots of course, and even some of them can’t deny how great it is). The movie brought in a massive $282 million opening weekend and only looks to make more. We might even see it cross the billion-dollar mark. In fact, I’m certain it will, in time.
But back to Krypto now, fans all over the internet are excited and ecstatic to see a live-action Krypto in a Superman movie. We’ve seen him on HBO’s Titans series with Superboy, but never in a Superman movie. It’s going to be exciting to see how this plays out. Who knows, we might even get more of the super pets with time. We all know how much James loves his animals.
One can only wonder if Chris Pratt himself will play Krypto as he is the one who helped drop the scoop. Although, it is hard to imagine that an actor as high-caliber as he is will play such a relatively small role in the DCU. But then we have another top-class actor to reference who plays a character somewhat similar. That would be Vin Diesel and his Guardians character Groot. His only lines in whatever dialogue are; “I am Groot.” But he still plays an important role as a member of the team.
Krypto himself is super important but it’s hard to see Chris Pratt taking on the role. He’s been linked to the role of Booster Gold, which we will see in Live-action in the coming years of Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters in the DCU. Superman: Legacy looks to spark a new beginning for the DC Universe, and it brings nothing but joy to witness.
Expect the spoilers to keep rolling in, because they won’t stop.
