Paramount+’s new series “Special Ops Lioness” is here and it’s packing some serious star power

Right now I’m currently binge-watching all 3 seasons of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan because it had me hooked from episode one. Those of you who have watched the series understand what I mean. So, you can imagine the joy in my heart when I stumbled upon this new series’s (Special Ops Lioness) trailer.

At first glance, I could feel the same vibe I got from Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan in Special Ops Lioness only that it’s Zoe Saldana’s “Joe” who is the protagonist instead of John Krasinski’s Jack.

I will admit though, the name is a bit unorthodox and weird but honestly, who cares when you’ve got a loaded cast that’s got Zoe Saldana, Laysla De Oliveira, Michael Kelly (who also started in Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Morgan Freeman, and Nicole Kidman. I’m absolutely loving the trend of A-class movie stars taking their talents to the series side of Hollywood in recent times. Stars you would only frequently see in movies now committing to series projects – you can’t go wrong with that.

The official plot of the series reads:

Special Ops Lioness follows the life of Joe (Zoe Saldaña) while she attempts to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the CIA’s spear in the war on terror. The Lioness Program, overseen by Kaitlyn Meade (Nicole Kidman) and Donald Westfield (Michael Kelly), enlists an aggressive Marine Raider named Cruz (Laysla De Oliveira) to operate undercover alongside Joe among the power brokers of State terrorism in the CIA’s efforts to thwart the next 9/11.”

The show promises high-octane action, and possibly twists and turns as we get deeper. It seems like Paramount really nailed it with this one. But we have to wait and see if it really does live up to how good it looks right now. And we don’t have to wait long for that, Special Ops Lioness will be released exclusively on Paramount+ on July 23.

Let’s see what Taylor Sheridan, Zoe Saldana, and the gang have for us with this one.
