The final season of Never Have I Ever is here, and It almost doesn’t feel real

It’s not every day you get to see a Netflix series come to an end. Most times they get canceled before they reach their full potential and Netflix is pretty fond of canceling great, fan-favorite shows. A recent painful example is Warrior Nun but Never Have I Ever is one of the few to break the curse and I am beyond excited to see what level of foolishness Devi has in store for us in her final year.

Netflix dropped the first official teaser for Season 4 a few days ago, and the excitement is real. Never Have I Ever has always been fun to watch and the Season finale doesn’t look to disappoint on that end. Although Devi has frustrated us all time without numbers with her mind-blowing decisions and actions (sometimes I want to give her brain a good shake through the screen), it looks like she’s done a bit of growing and maturing.

But we can always count on Devi to somehow do something stupid, and this is senior year, she’s probably going to go all out. From the trailer, we already see her with Paxton and with a new bad-boy boyfriend, Ethan. Sigh, she’s gonna get herself into some kind of messed up situation for sure. But then that’s what we’re here for, lol. We have to commend Mindy Kaling, and everyone else behind the show for not following the pattern that lots of shows use by knowing when to end the show, and how to end it instead of giving it 50 seasons with stale or mid-content.

Jaren Lewison himself thinks that season 4 is perfect. He says in his interview with ELLE:

“I think the way the writers approached this fourth season has been with such care and with such tenacious and meticulous planning that I think we all feel comforted by the fact that it was a perfect sendoff, season 4 is perfect.”

It would be nice to see what happens with not just Devi, but everyone around her. Her mother, her aunt, her friends, and her exes. They all deserve a proper send-off, and season 4 looks to do that. Never Have I Ever season 4 premieres June 8 exclusively on Netflix.

Team Ben? Team Paxton? Team other-guy-we-don’t-care-about? Let’s see who ultimately “wins” Devi’s heart. Because it is a very confused one.
