Prime Video’s Citadel took us for a pretty interesting ride through Mason Kane and Nadia Singh’s spy world amd their deadly battle against Manticore. It is without a doubt one of the best series to be released this year, and it looks like it will continue to be for many more years to come as it was renewed for season 2.
But we won’t have to wait two years before we see more Citadel spy action. After the final episode finished, we were given a first look at the next chapter in Amazon Prime’s Citadel spyverse with the upcoming Citadel: Diana series.
Citadel: Diana is an Italian spin-off that will focus on (obviously) Diana, giving us a lot of backstory about how she switched from working with the police force to becoming a Citadel spy, or so it seems from the trailer. Diana is played by Matilda De Angelis. As you can imagine, it has all the mind-blowing action you can expect from a fellow Citadel show, and a killer storyline, literally. We can also see that she has a love interest, and it’s going to be interesting to see how things play out on that front and if that relationship could have been one of the reasons that led to her joining Citadel.
We probably will not see Mason and Nadia in this as this isn’t their story, but since it is an interconnected universe, we might start to see crossovers and plot links as time goes on. Citadel: Diana is only the first of many other planned Citadel spin-offs. I’m excited to see what Amazon Prime does with the Citadel spyverse, and you should too because season 1 of Citadel was a rollercoaster, a great one too.
If you haven’t seen Citadel you should get to it right away, you don’t want to miss out on this. Citadel, starring Priyanka Chopra, Richard Madden, Stanley Tucci, Ashleigh Cummings, and many more, is available to stream on Prime Video right now.
Season one of Citadel: Diana is set to release in 2024 but we don’t have an official month or date yet. Stay tuned for more.
