We have been getting quality series after quality series all year long. Be it new seasons of fan-favorite shows like Ginny & Georgia or captivating new shows like The Last of Us, 2023 has been a great year for series lovers so far, and the streak continues and keeps getting better as we roll into April.
Here are five great series you need to watch or continue watching with the turn of the new month.
1. The Citadel (Season 1)
This new Amazon Prime, big-budget, series stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden as the protagonists of the show. It will be released on the 28th of April exclusively on Prime.
The Citadel is about two random, but not-so-regular, people who have no recollection of knowing each other but seem to know each other. Mason Kane (Kit Harrington) can’t recall anything from the last couple of years of his life, but somehow he manages to remember he’s connected to Nadia Sinh in some way, who also doesn’t know him but has apparently: “seen him in a dream. It turns out that they were both spy agents for an agency called The Citadel. A spy agency that is loyal to no nation. Together they must try to stop a shadow syndicate from carrying out whatever they have planned.
2. Love and Death (Season 1)
With Elizabeth Olsen leading the show, Love & Death is based on a true story, set in the 1980s, of Candy Montgomery who murdered her friend and neighbor with an axe. The Plot goes deeper than that with Candy seeking to have an affair with Betty Gore’s (the victim) husband, Allan. Things take a serious turn from there and the rest is history.
The show also stars Jesse Plemons, Tom Pelphrey, and Lily Rabe. The show might only be a miniseries but it is a damn good one to watch out for.
3. Titans (Season 4)
The Titans are closing out the second half of the season finale with a bang. The mid-season break left us with Sebastian finally becoming Brother Blood. If you thought that was interesting, wait till you see what the final episodes of the show have in store for us.
The last episodes will see Conner partner up with Brother Blood, the return of Red Hood (Jason Todd), and Mother Mayhem and Brother Blood trying to resurrect Trigon. Unfortunately, it looks like Brother Blood has altered the Titans’ lives and sent them to a different dimension. The Titans have to figure out a way to get back to their world and stop Brother Blood from bringing Trigon, he and Raven’s father, back to life.
The series will resume releasing new episodes on the 13th of April.
4. Extrapolations (Season 1)
With an extremely star-studded cast of Meryl Streep, Kit Harrington, Gemma Chan, Tobey Maguire, Yara Shahidi, Eiza Gonzalez, Forest Whitaker, Edward Norton, Daveed Diggs, and many more, Extrapolations gives us a look into the near future, where the effects of climate change have become embedded into people’s everyday lives; eight interwoven stories explore the intimate, life-changing choices that must be made when the planet is changing faster than the population.
The show is currently running with a couple of episodes still left in the season. Extrapolations is streaming exclusively on Apple TV+.
5. The Mandalorian (Season 3)
Pedro Pascal is back with some more intense Mando action in Season 3 of Disney+’s hit series alongside Grogu (baby Yoda).
Here in Season 3, Mando needs to go back to his home planet to atone for his sin (removing his helmet as a Mandalorian). There is only one problem, he is told by literally everyone he knows that Mandalore is poisoned and dead. The road to Mandalore will not be easy but there is nothing Grogu and Mando can’t handle together.
The Mandalorian finishes up Season 3 this April with a couple of episodes still yet to drop.
